The Resort 25 Collection invites you to delve into the dark side and immerse yourself in the tactile luxury of fringing, ruffles, and waves. At first glance, the collection presents as dark and moody, with sombre and gothic undertones. As you delve further, the fantasy comes alive as you find yourself irresistibly pulled into the enchantment of sequins evoking crystals and mermaid tails.

Maticevski demonstrates a mastery of fashion as art to wear through references to the history of clothing and design while pivoting towards the future idea of how clothes can be adorned. These pieces are akin to a painting or work of art, worthy of placement in a museum. The challenge was to offer something recognisable, yet never considered before, prompting Maticevski to re-imagine, re-invent, and re-define.

Texture plays and adornment transform the simplest of silhouettes into statement pieces, whilst asymmetrical necklines distort the conventional idea of what a strapless dress typically looks like. There is sensuously draped jersey in lilac hues, and fabrications resembling pressed metal. Fringing takes on an unexpected interpretation, as its flowing lines mimic the fluidity of paint dripping from the body. They shape the body in abstractions and unfamiliar motifs.

This season there is a dive into the conceptual and exaggeration of waves and ripple effect, entangling the body and marking the shimmering pond that mirrors the reflection of the night sky. There is a mystery to this woman. Here, she is at ease amidst the luxury and takes an understated approach to glamour. She is feminine and tough, all at once and carries herself with a sense of purpose. You can’t help but notice her as she captivates attention effortlessly.
