Under the moonlight, secrets unfold, revealing a world of magic. Rare flowers bloom in the stillness, their petals shimmering. Crystal waterfalls glisten, teeming with creatures and wildlife, while razor-sharp leaves emerge, casting shadows. Night‑blooming flowers fill the air with their sweet fragrance. The calm of the night is disrupted by the whispers and waves of wind, as the movement of a shallow breeze rustles against each other causing a chain reaction.
Pre-Fall is dark, but only in its tone. It’s luscious, elaborate, opulent and captivating—an indulgence in intricate detail and layers of luxury. There is a decadence of embellishment and volumes, enhanced with a power-punch elegant attitude. It evokes the thrill of riding a motorcycle through the night, leaving behind a trail of bursts of glitter dust that sparkles in the flash of light Romantic, yes. Shadowed, yes.
Toughened leather cocoons into sleeves and sublime silver flecked knits undulate as armholes, shoulder distortions and abstractions of silhouette take fold.
The Muse is an elusive emotion tied to a person—a rare individual who sparks an idea and enhances the language through which we create.
They arrive to illuminate, invite, inspire and excite you and others to discover the purpose of your work. I have many muses—some from the past, some present, and some future. I thought deeply about this idea and how to align these three muses in one season.
My past is shaped by memories and adventures with Lindy Klim—always beautiful, light in heart and spirit. She brings a light of carefree polish to Maticevski.
The present focuses on Kat Stewart, with whom I’ve had the privilege of dressing, conversing with, and adorning her person to elevate her desires in presenting oneself with confidence and strength.
Ayoul Manyok has completely embraced what I do with true imagination, love, and respect, and this has been reciprocated from the very beginning. She has the ability to invent and shape the brand, acting as a powerhouse of intellect and unwavering passion.
Then there’s Conlan Munari, who I have created many moments with—both veiled and unveiled in Maticevski—he captures the sensitivity of masculine beauty that Maticevski encompasses.
For the future, I look to Stella Klim and Lisa Rutledge. Despite their varying ages, there is something both palpable and powerful about what they each represent. Stella represents the beauty, tragedy, and freedom of youth, while Lisa, with a career spanning three decades, brings to Maticevski a rare combination of experience, grace, and timelessness. She redefines what it means to dress up, showing how a woman can look effortless, elegant, elevated, and alluring.
